The Point

Members of the Wood Estates Residents Association are eligible to enjoy exclusive access to ‘The Point’, a beautiful 64,000 square foot wooded recreational area on Johnson’s Pond. Click our Membership tab to learn how you can join and receive your annual access code.

Officially called Woods Point, this beautiful piece of property was incorporated into the residents association in 1966. Since then, it has been home to neighborhood events including socials, kids activities, and the best viewing of the Johnsons Pond Annual 4th of July Fireworks display.  Its amenities include a private gate, swimming area & beachfront, boat launch, bicycle parking, porta potty (seasonal), and picnic tables.

Important Safety Reminders 

  • ‘The Point’ and its amenities are for use by WERA Members only. To ensure continuous access to the Point, residents must follow the instructions on the WERA Membership tab for obtaining an access code to the Point, which changes annually every spring.
  • Please do not share your access code.
  • As WERA members, we’re all responsible for keeping the Point safe and beautiful by following guidelines for its proper use. Please remember to:
    • Put trash and recycling in the proper receptacles
    • Close the gate behind you to prevent unauthorized access
    • Report any maintenance concerns to WERA wera02816@gmail.com
    • Report public safety concerns to the Coventry Police Department (401) 826-1100
  • WERA members are welcome to bring guests! Just remember that all guests should be accompanied by WERA members. We all play a role in keeping the benefit of the Point as a private retreat for dues paying members.
  • Dogs are welcome! Just remember to keep them leashed and use the clean-up bags provided near the entrances.
  • Glass bottles of any kind are strictly prohibited for the safety of children who run and play on the property.
  • Open fires are strictly prohibited.
  • The Point is closed dusk to dawn

Boat Ramp Do’s & Don’ts

  • Do close the ramp gate when not in use.
  • Do prepare your vessel in advance of using ramp to avoid holding up those waiting to load in/out.
  • Non-motorized vessels, please use the unpaved side of the ramp to allow motorized vessels access
  • If fishing off the dock, please do clean up discarded lines, lures and other materials.
  • Don’t leave the gate opened and unattended.
  • Don’t block the boat ramp.
  • Don’t power load boats onto trailers.
  • Don’t leave vessels unattended at the dock.
